Gerber-Girl is a unique and dynamic specialist in all facets of the practical application of the Gerber Accumark system for the Fashion Industry.
A technological driven world has enhanced our industry and my skills, but the basic fundamentals remain the same. The lineage between design concepts and the production outcome has driven the desire for technology which can speed up the process, without compromising the outcome.
After 30+ years experience as a Gerber CAD Operator for a number of successful clothing companies in Melbourne, I have decided to pursue my own dreams and passion by starting a business of my own.
My back ground is predominantly as a Pattern Grader, which is often a misunderstood craft. Grading involves understanding the fundamentals of pattern making, size range fittings, garment construction and the manufacturing processes. In its essence it is the critical step where a garment is taken from the design process into the reality of production.
The correct size and fit of a garment is one of the crucial factors at point of sale. It doesn’t matter how good the design is, if the size range of garments don’t fit well.
